    Can't boot, initramfs. UUID problem.

I just installed Kubuntu 10.04 LTS and tried to boot up. I got sent into the initramfs recovery menu (I think its the recovery menu).

The problem is the UUID can't be recognized or something similar. I know its related to the UUID because I had this exact problem in ubuntu and fixed it by disabling it. Unfortunately this was months ago and I can't remember how to do that now, not to mention it took me hours of searching the forum to find the fix.

Is there a way to just fix the UUID problem without disabling it? Is there a performance difference if disabled? If not, how would I go about disabling it?
