No task bar or Application launcher on upgrade

I just upgraded from 9.10 to Lucid Lynx and the upgrade went okay . However when I login, I am presented with the desktop that has the icon for Trash can only. There is no task bar nor is there an application launcher (the K menu). I can add widgets, and I did add the launcher via add widgets, so I can start applications now. But I miss the taskbar..

How can I get back the taskbar and K menu?

add them to the panel the same way you added the launcher
