I have found themes via the internet list in Appearences. How do I find and install the ones that I have installed...by the way, I checked a few and only one shows up. What is the trick here?
System Settings > Appearance > Style > Workspace > Get New Themes
After you have Installed the theme - pick the installed theme at the "Workspace" tab and clik the "Apply button"
Why it is not working
The "Get New Themes" is getting the themes from the > KDE-Look.org.
openDesktop.org is a network of portals and community websites for open source and free software projects - it is a meeting point for both free software users and developers. Everyone can upload and download artwork, applications, documents and other files....
"Everyone can upload" - so everyone is not considering things like:
- Will this work with the KDE "Get New Themes"
- Is this right place to upload
- etc...
Example > The H2O-Colors is under the "Plasma Theme" but it is:
Description:
There are 18 new colors for you to leave
your desktop even more beautiful and colorful...
1) Download a theme file (> Plasma Themes) and unpack it - they are (should be) archives, nothing more.
2) Move the unpacked theme to the ~/.kde/share/apps/desktoptheme/
3) Turn the theme on: System Settings > Appearance > Style > Workspace - Pick&Apply.
