    grub2 and Kubuntu amd64

    Hi there,

I'm very new to Kubuntu (long years of Gentoo, before) and I have some trouble with grub2.

    I'm running Kubuntu Lucid Lynx, amd64 on a MacBook5,1.

Since I have several problems with grub2, here, I wanted to post each problem one after another...

    Here we go...

After I installed Kubunut, I started playing around with grub2, since I want to use EFI. At the very first, grub2 failed to work proberly with some notes about wrong binary formats. Just using `file` on the modules in /boot/grub revealed that they are all 32bit rather than 64. Hence, I installed 64bit modules only and grub2 still failed to work...since booting did not work properly after all that playing around, I reinstalled grub2-pc. Since this did not work that well, either, I reinstalled grub from the LiveCD and now I have all the 32bit modules back...

Is this the usual behaviour, having amd64 with a 32bit grub2?

    greetings,

    bienchen
