    Multiple monitors problem

    Hello all

In ubuntu I could just plug my monitor and It was extending the desktop to it.
But in kubuntu I can't do that. I doesn't automatically recognize my second monitor.
When I open display section in system settings, I can only mirror the screens but I can not extend the desktop.

Do you have any idea why this is ?

    Thank you very much

p.s. I am a newbie, so I can not show you my hardware settings, but if you give me some commands I can show the output here

    Take a look in /var/log/Xorg.0.log

It may tell you what is going wrong, or give you something to search for.

Look particularly for WW warning lines or EE error lines.

You may end up creating a file /etc/X11/xorg.conf to give you finer grained control of your displays than the gui settings allow.

    David.
