For the rest, it is not all that bad here. But after 24+ hours of a running system with a really unresponsive desktop, and still loads of 1.5 and above, and almost continuous 100% CPU usage on a dual-core, 2 GB of RAM, SATA 7200; without doing *anything*, I had to shut down Strigi (which didn't help much), and finally all Nepomuk.
I wonder why Kubuntu 10.04 was shipped with a totally crappy file indexing system, that uses a multitude of resources more than Firefox and Thunderbird; turned on.
Were I a layperson, I'd already trashed the install CD of Kubuntu. And with good reason. After installation, the system needs to work. Here, with Strigi and Nepomuk on, I can type a whole sentence into a terminal screen (!!), and it shows only some time after the last full stop.
