pci wifi card doesn't even get power after upgrade to lucid so i have no wifi

My PCI wifi card does not appear to get power. No LED. I upgraded to lucid this morning and now I can not scan for networks. I wish I could go back to 9.10 because it was working great.

I have an old Dell Inspiron 1000 laptop with a Netgear wifi adapter card wg511 v1.

How can I get 10.04 to recognize my wifi card?

I have installed the driver using ndiswrapper.

$ndiswrapper -l
netwg511 : driver installed

$lspci

shows eth0 and lo but no wlan

Have you tried if the card works on a Live CD?
I have one laptop with a (D-Link with Atheros chip) pcmcia card and it works nicely after a fresh install.

What does lspci tell you, is it seen?
