    [RESOLVED] Release updates problem

I have upgraded from 9.10 into 10.04 and I have problem with updates now,

    Error Type:

    File : /usr/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/packagekit/backend.py, line 723, in format_string

Also, firefox is always offline, so when I start it first I have to go file- and deselect work offline.

    Thanks for your support.

    Re: Release updates problem

    OK firefox issue fixed.

I prefer to use wicd and after I upgraded I realized that this time network-manager will not uninstall - so both were running, as soon as I removed network-manager firefox being offline issue is fixed.

But still waiting for some reply on update error issue.

    Thanks

My suggestion - stop using KpackageKit for anything. Open a console and type:
      Code:
      sudo apt-get update
      sudo apt-get install synaptic
Synaptic Package Manager is just so much better than KpackageKit.
Windows no longer obstructs my view.
Using Kubuntu Linux since March 23, 2007.

Thanks for the reply m8, in the mean time I found out that wicd entry into sources.list was creating problems and now its fixed.

I agree with you for synaptic package manager and I might change laters, for time being want to play with what it is.

Thank many, you are great community
