weird DSL modem problem...

    weird DSL modem problem...

    Hi all...

    Has anyone heard (or had this problem) of Ubuntu/Kubuntu causing a DSL modem to be "kicked off the internet?" By "off," I mean that periodically, the "internet" light on the modem will turn from green to red and either the modem resets itself or, like just now, I had to manually reset it. This never happened before I installed Ubuntu at the beginning of March.

    How old is the DSL Modem? They do 'go bad' eventually. I've had mine replaced at least once by my ISP.
    Windows no longer obstructs my view.

      just curious ... what is the wifi chip/card in the box attached to it?

        Hi Snowhog...

        I received it in March, 2009. It's worked almost flawlessly up until now.

        @GreyGeek: I have no idea, how would I find this out? The modem itself is a Motorola 3347 from Qwest, now CenturyLink.
