So I bought a Msi Wind u160 Netbook some time ago and used Win7 on it. Now I successfully installed Kubuntu on it. I used Ubuntu before but wanted to try KDE now.
For some reason the network card is recognized but I can't connect to my Wlan.
The wlan is secured by WPA/WPA TKIP/AES and works with both DHCP and static addresses. I think the network card is a rtl8102e.
When I establish a cable connection everything works fine but when I manually enter Wireless information and try to connect it won't work (it does not connect or show the network with a signal).
When I let Kubuntu search for Wlans it doesnt come up with any allthough there are 3 around which i use one of in Win7.
Before you ask, yes the wlan card is activated and also in kubuntu I activated Wlan.
I am very sorry if this is a stupid question but as always when dealing with linux I feel kinda lost.
If you can offer any help or need information I will post everything asap.
Edit: I realized that this might be the wrong section. I dont want to double post so maybe could someone move this to the newbie forum ?
Also here are some Information:
