Hi all,
My new installation of 10.04 connected fine wirelessly but now at a hotel I can't connect with the wire.
Looked as previous solutions but none of them helped. Network fine in XP partition so I know hardware is fine.
Network Manager icon in tray on mouseover says "Unmanaged" and right mouse click says "Network Management disabled".
ifconfig gives me:
lo Link encap:Local Loopback
inet addr:127.0.0.1 Mask:255.0.0.0
inet6 addr: ::1/128 Scope:Host
UP LOOPBACK RUNNING MTU:16436 Metric:1
RX packets:785 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
TX packets:785 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
collisions:0 txqueuelen:0
RX bytes:60966 (60.9 KB) TX bytes:60966 (60.9 KB)
so I'm not getting IP address.
Package Manager can't connect so I downloaded WICD tar.gz from XP partition which I can see from Kubuntu but don't know how to run it.
Appreciate any suggestions.
