Network manager won't allow me to create new VPN connections

I'm quite new to linux and KDE

I would like to use the network manager to create a new VPN connection.

I right click on the icon in the system tray and select 'manage connections'

I then go to the 'VPN' tab

The 'Add' button is greyed out....

    Am I missing something here?

I've tried clicking on Help, but get an error message 'The file or folder help:/ does not exist.'

    It's a almost fresh install of 10.04 64bit

One user suggested that the network-manager-gnome package works better than the network-manager-kde package, even in Kubuntu.

I would be interested to know if that works for you.

    sudo apt-get remove network-manager-kde
    sudo reboot
    sudo apt-get autoremove

    sudo apt-get install network-manager-gnome network-manager-vpnc-gnome
    sudo reboot
