I have a DI-624 D-Link wireless router <<< A very old router - not supported by D-Link since August 01, 2007 (in the USA)
Securety options:
WEP
WPA
WPA2 <<< Use this
With PSK (personal mode) or EAS (Extensible Authentication Protocol) <<< Use PSK
What should the wireless mode be:
Ad hoc or
infrastructure <<< Try both. If changing, you should shut-down the PC, then unplug power to the router, and then unplug power to the modem. Wait one minute. Then plug in the power to the modem, then to the router, and when both are fully on (no blinking lights), turn on the PC.
And the MTU setting:
Mine is set to 1500 <<< Leave as is
Windows no longer obstructs my view.
Using Kubuntu Linux since March 23, 2007.
