    net not working after update

Hi! After upgrading yesterday to from Karmic to Lynx, the browsers (konqueror & Firefox) and even KpackageKit (!) are unable to connect to internet, although the modem seems to be reconized by kppp (I was never able to connect with NetworkManager). They all show the same message: "unknown server".

In the System Monitor, the network conection graphic shows some small peaks from time to time, and Firestarer seems to be working fine, so i guess there is some kind of traffic, but browsers and kpackagekit are blocked..
I guess this has to do something with permissions or iptables configuration, but don't know how to set it up.

I use usb modem huawei E169G on port ttyUSB0 and kppp for my net connection.
If someone wants to help me I'll provide all the information you ask, but for now i don't know wich coud be relevant...

Could it be a permissions or iptables configuration issue? How can I see that? And how could I fix that?

Re: net not working after update

    Problem SOLVED.
Somehow, during the upgrade process, kppp configuration was changed, and the DNS servers where switched from "automatic" to "manual".
Now i'm surfing with Kubuntu again
Thanks a lot for everyone who read this topic
