Is this your hub here?
If so, It's strange that Kubuntu won't work with it. Under the "Features" tab, Tripp-Lite claims the device is Linux compatible.

It turned out to be an electrical problem with the unit. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't. I RMAed it after trying it on several machines and on multiple ports on each machine.Comment

Believe it or not I have issues quite a bit with those things. Not just Tripp's. Must be inherent to such devices.Comment
