Uhhuh. NMI received for unknown reason b1 on CPU 0.

    Hi all,

I was wondering if any of you guys could help me.

I am having a problem with my video card (Quadro FX 350M 256MB) on my recently purchased laptop (Dell Precision M65).

If I leave the default video driver installed then it plays nicely. Sadly I don't get the hardware acceleration niceness, but when I install the video drivers from the Hardware Drivers list then I get this message which seems random and my video scrambles and locks out. I then have to reboot my laptop.

The Kernel says that its dazed and confused and that the pci bus might be broke?

I have tried installing the latest and I'm currently on version 96 of the nVidia drivers (so far so good ).

Is there anything that can be done?

    Totally lost,

    Hi...

I'm not sure if I understand. If you are getting direct rendering with these drivers and everything is working smoothly then you should be good to go.

The legacy drivers you installed are most likely as good as you are going to get with this particular laptop, considering its age.
