    HDMI Audio Problem

Strange problem, the hdmi audio drivers on my ati 4870 gpu appear to be working during test after install but when i play a video using vlc there's no sound. I've been away from linux for several years but kubuntu lured me back.

    Thanks for the help.

    Re: HDMI Audio Problem

check to see if all your chanels are avalable unmuted and turned up in kmix.
usualey it's the PCM chanel being muted/turnd down that's the prob.

click the speeker icon in the system tray then click mixer .... if you dont see a PCM chanel click settings>configure chanels if you see it in the left hand pane drag it to the right pane then set it.
