I've installed kubuntu 10.04 on a iMac24 (no apple software) and nearly everything works fine. Except: imicrophone, the internal microphone on iMac24. For example using skype, I can hear others talk, but they don't hear me. test call on skype: hear the instructions, speak my piece, but don't hear it spoken 'after the beep'.
Pulseaudio panel 'voice control': input device: microphone 1; the recording tab is gray with the message: no application is currently recording audio.

I found a workaround for this problem on Jaunty, accidentaly a cheap external microphone was working.
The second workaround on Karmic Skype was using an external USB microphone integrated with a webcamera, it was the only microphone that worked.

Hi Josefko, answer much appreciated, but it seems weird that the imic is not even detected, as the webcam, isight, is.
Perhaps you or someone else may have another suggestion??
