    Hi

If you install the package cheese you may find that your webcam springs into life.

If you are looking into buying a webcam you might find this worth a look

My new laptop has a web-cam. Is there a system config area for them? Couldn't find anything. Is there a package that lets you do that or "test" the web cam?

        Re: Webcam support..

I haven't seen one. I'm not sure there's anything to configure really.

Cheese seems to be the only one to have practical use for a laptop

The only acid test I suppose will be to install cheese and load it - I think you also need libgphoto installed (not personal experience- just read in another post)

I'll take a look. Never had a web-cam so this is new for me. Don't know if I really need any way. It was a part of the system regardless. Thanks!

If your camera uses the uvcvideo driver, install guvcview.

It seems it can be done, but it looks like you may be in for installing your first source package!

yeah i only install one package.. i'll read that one first before i experiment with spca5xx, and spca5xx so hard for a newbie to install..
