My video card is a NVIDIA GeForce 7100 / NVIDIA nForce 630i . To load Linux one must issue “ACPI-Off” in order to load linux.
Kubuntu 9.10 installed and ran fine. I tried a clean install of 10.04 every thing went well until the 1st reboot. When it started back up it had black and gray horizontal stripes on the screen, and would go no farther.
Is there a way to do a text install (as in Slackware), where one is able to enter “vga=792” following the “acpi off” ?
