    And what am I supposed to be doing? My device shows a proper ID line (Epson...), but to get it working I have to run that script at every startup. How come these news issues were introduced into cups (or whatever it is)?

      Register with bugs.launchpad.com and add your situation to the bug report.
      Windows no longer obstructs my view.

        Have you tried this? http://kubuntuforums.net/forums/inde...9625#msg229625
        There's a patched version of cups -- install that and see if it helps?
