Steps necessary to configure LL to print on the HP OfficeJet 6500 printer (inkjet printer with copier and fax).
0) Install HPLIP GUI (the other HPLIP files are preinstalled)
1) Unpack and prepare printer for printing according to instructions that came with printer.
2) Plug printer into power outlet.
3) Connect Printer to computer with USB cable (not supplied)
4) Turn on printer
5) Configuration complete. Lucid Linux automatically recognizes the HP OfficeJet 6500 and configures it.
6) Open SystemSettings. Click on Printer Icon. Adjust configuration, make the 6500 the default (if it isn't already).

6) Open HPLIP Gui. Click on printer photo in left panel (not fax photo -- lighting bolt through paper). Visit the various tabs and make changes according to your desires.
