[solved] "The process for the trash protocol died unexpectedly" when (...)

"The process for the trash protocol died unexpectedly," says Dolphin when I restore a file from trash. The file is restored, but not removed from trash.

No error messages on the console.

    *shrug*

    At a loss once again!

So you did a restore and the file was restored but not removed from the Trash bin. What happens when you just empty the trash?

The "Empty trash" option is greyed out, as I just discovered. I can delete files from the trash manually, though.

Edit: Okay, solved already. I found the .local/share/Trash/files directory and, in it, a group of trashed files left over from my previous user account that weren't showing up in the "trashcan" at all. I deleted those, and the trash seems back to normal now.

      Thanks.
