    KDE interface niggles

I have been using the Lucid beta for a few weeks now, and in general it has been great.

There are a few things that are annoying to me.
When I drag a window and it hits the top of the screen, it magically maximises. I can see that this is kindof a good idea, but it annoys me to no end. It makes it pretty difficult to fill your screen with 2 windows horizontally, or just move one to the top. Because I don't know the name of it, I can't turn it off. I have just figured out how the resize on the side works, before it was just a mystery feature as well.

Can someone please tell me how to turn off the auto window resize feature, or what it is called, so I can look it up.

I think it would be a good idea to be able to opt into a "settings popularity contest" feature, similar to what there is for packages. That way we could see what % of people turn off given features, and assess whether they are a good idea.

A couple of my pet KDE hates:
Music on startup/shutdown. Makes it kindof difficult to reboot a machine in a meeting. It took ages to find exactly where the on/off for it is buried.
Single click select. First thing I do on a new install is switch back to double click.

Maybe I am alone in finding these so annoying (but it felt good to vent), and I am happy to change them each time I reinstall if the will of the people says it be so, but it would be nice to know that people know what is changed off the defaults.

All in all, thanks for everyones hard work.

K > System Settings > Desktop > Screen Edges > Window Management and uncheck Maximize windows by dragging them to the top of the screen

System Settings>Notifications>System Notifications. Select Applications Tab and KDE System Notifications in the Drop-Down Menu. Highlight, "Logout," and un-check Play a sound. Do the same for, "Login," and any other unwanted sounds.

System Settings>Keyboard & Mouse. Select Mouse. Under, "General," tab check the Double-click to open files and folders.

Just though I'd add for anyone else who is looking for these settings.

      Thanks
