Very slow download of Lucid Lynx

This thing is dragging on for days, and my cable internet service is pretty fast... All night last night, all day today, and it's still only at 64%.

It is getting close to the release date. The slowdown could be due to a LOT of folks downloading the ISO.

There is a Konsole app called aria2, which you can install with synaptic. Its executable is aria2c. You can right mouse on an iso offering and select "Copy Location". Then, open a Konsole and type in
aria2c
followed by a space. Then click on the "Edit" menu option of the Konsole window and choose "Paste". Then press the "Enter" key.

Aria2 is a high speed down loader that defaults to using 4 threads at once. You can edit its config file and change the number of simultaneous download threads it uses. Note that not all websites allow a user to make multiple connections. Some allow only two or one.
