I've had relatively good luck with Kubuntu until recently upgrading to Beta 1, which then through update manager has, well, become up to date ;-) Unfortunately, I have found that the stability of Kubuntu is actually worsening. Is anyone else having this issue? It started out with some things just slowing down; now my graphics keep turning off, Dolphin keeps crashing (I've had to kill it because it and a process called "ksoftirqd/1" were running at 48% of a dual core CPU...), and the system overall just isn't as snappy as... well, the alpha of 10.04? Or 9.10 for that matter.
Is there a reason for the slowdowns? Am I the only one having these issues? This is a relatively untouched system, other than enabling the proprietary graphics (Nouveau doesn't even show up anymore) and installing a few necessities such as the Gimp and always upgrading when it prompts me to. Thanks!
