"The Adobe Flash Plugin has crashed" SOLVED - I hope!

    UPDATE:

I am not a Linux expert. My experience and knowledge is somewhat spotty and does not have solid foundations. It does greatlty depend on what problems I encounter and solve.

Therefore I do at times think and work out of the box. The results are usually mixed, sometimes spectacular.

While typing this update I am listening to streaming audio from a local radio station. Flash player did NOT crash!!! It works!!

I solved the problem by examining my working 9.04 FF installation and the plugins used.
Found a file named npwrapper.libflashplayer.so but not libflashplayer.so.
Copied the nwrapper.xxx file to my flash drive.
Switched to 10.04 and copied npwrapper.libflashplayer.so from the flash drive to .mozilla/plugins where the other plugins for 10.04 reside.

Started FF. Went to local radio station and start audio. It works!!!!!!

Kind of an unorthodox solution only an ignoramus could think of. But it works. At least for me.

I am running Kubuntu 10.04 Beta, latest build on 64bit AMD machine. Plenty of RAM. Everything working lawlessly.

Except the Shockwave Flash plugin for FF 3.7a5pre (latest build). I installed it properly, it shows under aboutlugins but regularly crashes when a website wants to play a video.

I searched Google and the Kubuntu forum for fixes. Found many posts and suggestions but none of them work for me. Shockwave keeps on crashing.

I am also running FF on 9.04 (64bit). It is working just fine there. But meybe I am using the 32bit FF?

Anyway, I tried to find a solution for days now without success. I used some instructions on how to install Adobe Flash, 64bit, for FF that worked. Unfortunately I cannot find the website any longer.

Does anyone have working installation instructions for the Adobe Flash plugin for FF or know where the website is located?

the easiest way to install is to go to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ and download the .deb file. Then run the GDebi Package Installer and it should automatically put the .so files in all the right places.

In your aboutlugins, what is the version of flash you're using now? I think the latest for linux is 10.0.45.2.

If it continues to crash even after it's properly installed, try using older versions of flash. 10.0.22 was stable by most accounts. You can find the archive .zip somewhere on that same website. Search for it.

    And report back.
    Home: Kubuntu 12.04-amd64; Intel i7-860 on Intel DH55PJ; Nvidia 9500GT; 6GB RAM
Network Slave: Xubuntu 11.10-x86; Intel P4-Prescott on MSI; 2GB RAM; Nvidia FX5200
Portable: Xubuntu 11.10-amd64; Asus EeePC 1015PEM

        . . .
I tried the adobe site. The flash player is 32bit. Does not install.

        Flash version Shockwave Flash:

        File: libflashplayer.so
        Version:
        Shockwave Flash 10.0 r45

Had r32 installed. Also did not work.
The .so file is in the correct directories.

I saw somewhere that one must make a link to get it to work. Unfortunately, I cannot find that post any longer. I believe my working 64bit flash on 9.04 has it.

          Dibl,
followed the instructions. 'libk3b2-extracodecs' was not found. I installed it from the command line.

Plugins are installed (Shockwave flash version 245), IcedTea and so on.

Still got the crash. By the way, it happens only on some websites. Others play video.
