    Amarok

Hi there, I have been testing Kubuntu 10.4 and everything works great except for Amarok which doesn't load at all, I see A spinning black ball at the bottom of the screen and that's all.
The other topic is my video card nvidia works good, but it seems not to display the special effects, I see the transparent bar at the bottom (notification bar ?) and only see the transparent window when I highlight the window and move it around, is that ok?
    Thanks in advance.

    Rule of Thumb

When you get a mysterious error/no start with the gui, use the cli.

With the cli you usually get a full error message and could do a net search with the error message.

Press Alt + F2 and type konsole, on the konsole type: "amarok"

I don't have the nvidia but that doesn't sound right -

What kind of nvidia do you have and what kind of driver are you using ?

Do your xorg log have errors ?
    Code:
    grep EE /var/log/Xorg.0.log
    Before you edit, BACKUP !

Why there are dead links ?

      Re: Amarok

I did follow your instructions, Amarok starts when I type the command in the console, and gives a long list of activities, so when it opens I try to import some files and after a while it crashes and I get the option of sendind the crash report. I don't know anything about commands so don't know how to explain it, on the second issue, the nvidia driver after typing your command : grep EE /var/log/Xorg.0.log I get the following message: (WW) warning, (EE) error, (NI) not implemented, (??) unknown. (II) Loading extension MIT-SCREEN-SAVER
I hope that it will be sufficient information.
