    Dell 1320c not seen by cups

    I have a Dell 1320c printer and it is seen by lsusb, but cups does not see it

    There's a thread over in ubuntu forums http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.p...+1320c+printer on how to get it to work under Gutsy (and hardy). May also work under Lucid with some minor tweaks.

      I have tried all the installing procedures that is available several times, cups still does not see it, so all I get is errors, can someone help me with getting cups to see the printer?? Thanks in advance

        What entry is the printer? This one?

        Maybe it is a rebranded samsung. If so, it should work perfectly:
        http://www.openprinting.org/printers...cturer/Samsung

        Otherwise, in System Settings/Printers, can you try to add it manually? As a Dell, and you chose a similar model?

        Maybe turning off and on the printer will help cups recognizing it?

          There seems to be a problem with CUPS and USB printers. There are bug reports on this, mine included.
          Windows no longer obstructs my view.
