well I just ran off 474 updates.... 
(but a lot were Gnome stuff)
and I'm SOOOOOO happy .......for now eney way all my audio outputs are working again
usualey onley the rear output's work but now the frunt and suround outputs are showing in Kmix and alsamixer again...............the last time was right after uping Karmic to KDE-4.4.1 but the first set of upgrades after broke it again.
?? I wander if I should pin somthing right now and if so what....alsa??
but eney way I just wanted to shought it from the hill's.... and express my enthuseasum for the large upgrade success ..... LOL
