Daily builds 13 & 14 both the installer crashes(Solved)
Re: Daily builds 13 & 14 both the installer crashes
Noticed that with the 3/13/10 build.
I downloaded it and decided to install it on a USB stick. The CDROM (passed md5sum & cd check) gave several errors during the boot phase but seemed to recover. With the LiveCD running I stuck in an 8GB stick and clicked the "Install Kubuntu" icon on the desktop. The install seemed to go O.K. I rebooted, kicked out the CDROM, and let it boot into the USB stick. The USB stick boot showed the same errors as the CDROM boot showed, but once I got the KDE 4.4 desktop things appeared to run fine.
When I was done playing with it I did a reboot. During the "off" phase of the reboot I pulled the USB stick. When my HD tried to boot up I got a GRUB rescue prompt complaining that it didn't recognize a particular UUID number. Thankfully, the Super GRUB2 Disk 1.30 made easy work of the reboot and once into my desktop I reinstalled GRUB2 and its associated files, which restored my main boot.
