Not to be snarky, but that doesn't answer my question.

Your guess is as good as mine

        I can find:

(Adobe) > Flash Player 10 for 64-bit Linux:
...an alpha refresh of 64-bit Adobe Flash Player 10 for Linux operating systems was released on December 8, 2009 and is available for download...

(Ubuntu) > Bug 299146 flashplugin-nonfree on amd64 should use pure 64 bit plugin:

It seems that the Ubuntu is waiting the final 64-bit Adobe Flash Player. They have been waiting it from the Intrepid...

I read the discussion to which you linked,

That's about what I expected: yeah, maybe some day, it'd be a good idea. But it also appears as well that nobody really wants to own 64bit flash.

FWIW, it would seem that an optional package suitably identified as pre-release would satisfy any reservations. Putting such a package in a PPA would be a suitable 2nd best.

I imagine that there are some licensing issues that would have to be worked out with Adobe which goes back to the likelihood that nobody really wants to own 64bit flash.
