Having looked through the forums, I found a couple references to this dating back through the previous two releases.  There currently doesn't appear to be a workaround for it.

If you select "Use my KDE style in GTK applications" from "GTK Styles and Fonts" all my GTK based applications have black menus.  If I "Use another style" everything works fine.

Any help?

Sorry for the belated response.  My problem is that I can't reproduce your problem.  I have "use my KDE.." checked and things like Synaptic and Streamtuner look fine. Can you answer a few questions?  Which GTK apps heve you tried?  Does your result change when you change the choice in the GTK fonts section?  Which distro are you running, Dapper, Edgy, or Feisty?  Which KDE styles have tried?  What kind of graphics adapter do you have, and are you using an open driver or a proprietary driver?

Hope this helps.
