Sorted Who's Online listing by default


When clicking on Last click to see Who's Online you start with an unsorted listing. It takes two mouse clicks on User to get the listing to show active members in alphabetical order followed by Guests. Yes, it's just two mouse clicks, but when I visit this page, I want to see the members listed first, and this can be done 'by default' if, instead of the programed URL of:

Not able to shut down my pc. Kubuntu 8.04


Hello. I installed recently kubuntu 8.04 with KDE3 (that one before KDE4) and when y try to turn off my computer, it logs out but didnt shut down my pc completely, just appears a black screen and i have to turn it off by pressing the power button of the computer. Before, i had Ubuntu installed and it turned it off properly, so i had nothing to care about...I just press the button and wait for it to shut down the system. I tried with debian, and it did the right thing too...why is not possible to ...

What does Wubi Install Size do?


I tried Wubi installing 8.04 onto my USB drive and apparently the installation worked but the boot would not.  I read some of the messages here and decided that wasn't worth fighting.  So I cleared some space on my C: drive and set off to try again.

printing stopped working after last Dapper update


Hi all:

My exwife's computer won't print after the last big Dapper update.  She uses Dapper for her work/home computer (waiting for latest LTS to iron out before we upgrade OS) plus VMWare to run a copy of XP so she can use Quickbooks for her work.

Anyway, she noticed that she couldn't print out from XP.  I asked if she could print from Linux side and she couldn't.  I opened a Konsole and started top and here's what was on the top of  ...

Hi, I hope someone sees this and knows. I'm attempting to upgrade LTS to LTS 6.06 to 8.04. I updated 6.06 as much as possible first. Then changed repo, sources.list from dapper to hardy. Had started synaptic and it was doing a smart upgrade. Stopped it to reboot cause wifi location getting slow. On reboot I'm in gnome gui. I don't know if its safe to continue. Or how to get from gnome back to kde. Anyhelp anyone please. And thanks in advance. I'll continue to search and check ...
